El Mundo

Bartender & Branding Assistant

For 2 years, I worked as a bartender in the bar El Mundo.

This experience allowed me to improve my customer service skills, especially in Danish. I was often responsible for making the bar feel welcoming and maintaining a good atmosphere, which helped me become a better communicator and connect with people from all kinds of backgrounds. Working side by side with my colleagues taught me the value of teamwork and the fast-paced shifts pushed me to get better at multitasking. On top of that, I also got to use my creative side by helping with design of visuals and event photography.

The bar was looking to attract more guests by organising diverse events, preparing offers on drinks and making the interior visually interesting. My manager then offered me additional responisiblities of designing a new menu that matches the interior and atmosphere of the bar, designing Happy Hour boards and photography at events and social gatherings of staff, which would be used for promotion.

The designs are presented below.

Design 1. The new menu.

On the right, the bar’s exterior and interior is visible.

Design 2. Happy Hour board

Burnt orange colour provides a warm complementary contrast with green. Addinitionally, there is red wallpaper in parts of the bar. Harmony with the red tones is achieved.
